The Aquastar WAV18 drain covers had several fins that were missing. The Aquastar 1216 drain covers had screw holes that were missing screws or had white debris in them preventing the screws from being visible. The WAV18 covers must be replaced and a new data sheet must be submitted for review. The 1216 covers need to be cleaned to see screws or replace if missing.

Permit can not be issued until an electrical permit has been obtained and inspected by building inspections dept. The pool motor was replaced without an electrical permit. Call the env health office at 919 989 5180 when building inspections has signed off on the new motor to schedule reinspection. Failure to obtain an electrical permit when changing a motor is deemed an imminent hazard and a pool operations permit can not be issued.
Tighten two ladders on both sides of the 3 1/2' section. All the rubber bumpers have been replaced.

When inspecting fencing, I observed various spaces where the clearance between grade and the bottom of the barrier was greater than 2 inches. The clearance shall be 2 inches. Prior to the completion of inspection the present pool manager corrected the areas located.

Clear walk space around the pool was found to be less than 8 feet in areas. The insufficiency was discussed with pool management and corrected prior to the end of the inspection.
The pH of pool water was above a 7.8 at the start of inspection. Muratic acid was added by the CPO and now reading a 7.8. Must be between a 7.2-7.8.

At the start of the inspection, pool had only 1 body hook and 2 ring buoys. 1 of the buoys had a tear in cover that exposed the inside foam. Due to pool surface square footage being >3000 sq ft, pool must have 2 body hooks on 12' pole and 2 ring buoys w/ 50' ropes (in good repair). CPO-repaired during inspection w/new buoy and rope and body hook on pole.

Several bags of pool salt and chemicals stored directly on the floor in the pump room and the chemical room. Do not store chemicals in the pump room. Always store on shelving in the chemical storage room.
Vacuum cover was slightly open due to debris in hinge. Unless pool is unoccupied and in process of being vacuumed-cover must be closed and unable to open w/out a tool.
