The previous inspection called into question the installation of a 3Hp pump in addition to the approved circulation pump. Bldg. inspections did not have a final sign off in the file. Shane Hudson with Johnston County Building Inspections inspected the pumps and the bonding of the pumps today and gave approval on site during my inspection of the pool. This pump is rated for a maximum flow of 170gpm, the circulation pump is 5Hp and rated at 400gpm. If ran together they would pull 570 gpm, the main drains can only handle 560gpm. The power to the 3 Hp pump has been disabled, the ball valve to allow flow has been chained and pad locked, as well as both plugs from the pump have been removed. This guarantees that the 3 Hp pump cannot be run with the main pump. Never run both pumps together.
Areas between vertical members of fencing greater than 4"in some areas and greater than 2" under bottom of the fence. This does not meet current fencing regulations. Fencing is in compliance for the year the fence was constructed. Gate to the playground and back side gates do not meet current code.

Fencing was found to have an area that was less than 48" in height from grade to top of fence. This pool was build in 2004. Therefore it is regulated in 15A NCAC 18A.2528c. Pool management was notified and repaired fence height. Fence is now in compliance with fence height.

Keep locks on all gates except for main entrace. On daily log add a column for checking status of main drain covers. Pool will be closed each night at dust. Pump info: pentair EQ 500 - 5Hp
When I arrived at pool main gate ws not latched. gate was locked, but was not shut when lock was applied. Members came and unlocked mechanism and gate was working properly. Gate must be self closing and self latching to prevent unwanted access. Make sure all member lock gate properly if gate is to be locked. May consider installing electric lock to prevent gate from being locked in the unlatched position. Monitor as needed on a daily basis!
